Tektrench

Tektrench is a pumpable two-component self-foaming product used to build pillows and breakers that support pipelines. It is also used to slow or stop the ingress of water in gas, oil, or utility pipeline trenches.

Description

Using Tektrench reduces worker fatigue and improves safety as related to navigating confined spaces while manually handling and placing heavy sandbags.

Using a pumped-in-place installation method for trench pillows, breakers, and plugs improves field operational efficiency by reducing manpower requirements, lowering material usage, costs, and waste.

Advantages

  • Cost effective alternative to polyurethane foams
  • Low exothermic reaction temperature allows for extended product exposure to the pipeline without degradation or risk of fire hazard to the surrounding environment
  • Supports cathodic protection thus extending the life expectancy of the pipeline
  • Pumping the product into place while outside of the trench requires less manpower, improves efficiency, and improves workforce safety by lowering the risks associated to working in confined trench spaces typical to polyurethane or sandbag installations
  • 20:1 expansion rate reduces the rate of material consumption thus lowering overall material costs
  • Ease of installation, utilizes durable mobile lightweight pumping equipment
  • Large scale project installations can be shipped product in Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) or 55g drums
  • Installations can be left exposed in open trenches for extended periods of time without measurable deterioration to the product
  • Fire-resistant
  • Water permeable

Shelf Life

At least six months from date of delivery or twelve months from date of production when stored in a dry place between 10 °C and 30 °C. If this time is exceeded, we recommend having the material checked by Minova for compliance with specification. When the material is warmed up, local overheating, e.g. at the container wall, must be avoided by any means.
