Curtain Injection - Our staff are fully-trained in all the leading manufacturers injection systems, specializing in sealing methods that use pressure gel injections (curtain walls).
With their low viscosity and high elasticity, the products we use are ideal or sealing structural components with ground contact. Water-like viscosity means very high penetration into mineral surfaces, with a waterproof, solid elastic gel forming once it's cured. This gel offers high tear resistance and good adhesion to mineral surfaces both dry and wet.
These gels are designed to make new sealing surfaces (curtains) in foundation soils that have direct contact with the building component or within the structure. With a low viscosity, acrylate gels are ideal for sealing structural components with ground contact. On interaction with water, the gel swells and fulfills requirements for ground water hygiene. Areas of application include sealing tunnel, shaft and canal systems, abutment and wing walls in bridge constructions and sealing partially non-basement buildings.
Ground Stabilization - Our ground stabilization techniques involve driving small, specialist injection lances into mobile ground consisting of loose soils and gravels. After agreeing the most appropriate resin with a client, we use a continual systematic injection and reaction technique to carefully monitor the stabilization process.
Once injected, our resins undergo a chemical reaction, changing from a low-viscosity liquid to a solid. This process begins with foaming. which helps to significantly reduce the volume and weight of the injection product. This will compact and stabilize the surrounding loose soil.
Advantages of resin injection in ground stabilization:
When a structure is due to receive increased loads - for example when installing heavier machinery in a factory, or adding a loft conversion to a building - our ground stabilization techniques can be applied. We compact soft soil layers to impede subsidence and provide better support for ground structures.
Foundation and Pit Sealing - Our fully-trained operatives are authorized to use the MINOVA RSA injection systems to provide leak-sealing solutions where water ingress is present. They're experts at pinpointing the exact materials required, and can customize a solution to fit your needs exactly.
We continuously train our staff to ensure we're always able to offer the latest solutions in accordance with MINOVA RSA.
We offer expertise in injection chemicals and application techniques to protect and repair structures against detrimental salts and water, across the following areas:
Concrete Repairs - The corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete is the single biggest cause of infrastructure deterioration. This is caused by two factors: carbonation, leading to loss of concrete alkalinity and chloride attack from de-icing agents or seawater which break down the protective oxide film of the steel.
Moisture and oxygen can cause expansive corrosion up to eight times greater than the original steel, which can lead to concrete cracking, delamination, and spalling.
We are approved applicators of the leading manufacturers repair materials. Our highly trained personnel have repaired structures including bridges, high rises, dams and weirs. Operations include defective concrete removal, surface preparation, levelling, spray applications, mortar works, crack-bridging, anti-carbonation coatings, carbon fiber plate reinforcement and crack stitching with Helifix solutions.
The material we provide is suitable for a ride range of building and repair needs, especially where excellent bonding, high strength and abrasion resistance is needed in permanent repairs to spalled or damaged concrete, for example.
Slab Lifting - The terms slab jacking and mud jacking have defined the act of raising sunken concrete for decades. Using traditional methods with cement-based materials can mean varying results and degrees of precision. Fracturing and over lifting of slabs can occur.
There is an alternative. Injecting structural polyurethane foam into the voids beneath settling or rocking concrete slabs can stabilize them without excavation and added weight. You can lift slabs back to their original position using our precision lift products.
Typical Applications -
Government: Roads, highways, bridges, airports, dams, catch basins
Industrial: Concrete floors, mining, subsurface utilities, retaining walls
Residential: Patios, porches, walkways, driveways, pools, foundations
Many slab lifting jobs first require fixing underlying problems with uneven or settling substrate with soil stabilization. Only Precision Lift from Prime Resins targets the causes of settling by addressing soil stabilization prior to slab lifting. This creates long-term advantages.
