Sealing (gas, water, sewer)

CarboCryl Sv

CarboCryl Sv is a quick sealing hydrophilic, flexible 2-component methacrylate gel used for

  • Sealing of water inflows
  • Curtain grouting of soil and loose rocks
  • Stabilisation of sandy or silty soil

Description

CarboCryl Sv is a 3-component-system based on methacrylates. CarboCryl Sv hardens to an elastic product. Car-boCryl Sv is characterized by its low mixing viscosity, which lies near the viscosity of water. CarboCryl Sv can be used for curtain groutings and ground stabilizations.

Advantages

  • Excellent penetration capacity due to water like viscosity
  • Adjustable curing speed
  • High elasticity
  • Resistance vs. most organic, or inorganic liquids chemical

Instructions

For injection of the mixture we recommend to use a self-priming two-component injection pump in stainless steel, with a specific mixing ratio 1 : 1. The solutions are conveyed separately via high-pressure hoses to a compression head and injected into soil or masonry via a feed pipe and a packer, which has been fixed before in a drill hole. After injec-tion of the acrylate, flush out the compression head with water.

The grout is capable of penetrating minute cracks as well as silty soil. The radius of injection is defined by the gel time, in the first place.

In case that on a site both CarboCryl and polyurethane have to be injected, first the higher viscous polyurethane shall be used, than the lower viscous CarboCryl gel.

Within the processing time all equipment can be cleaned with water. Partially and completely cured material can only be removed mechanically.

Shelf Life

At least six months from date of delivery or twelve months from date of production when stored in a dry place be-tween 10 °C and 30 °C. Do not expose to sunlight or prolonged contact to iron. When this time is exceeded, we rec-ommend having the material checked by Minova CarboTech for compliance with specification. The local legislation on storage has to be observed.

Sealing (gas, water, sewer)

CarboPur WX

CarboPur WX is a slow-reacting 2 component polyurethane resin, free of CFC and non-halogen, for sealing and stabilising in dry and water-bearing areas. Without water contact the injection resin reacts slowly to a high-strength, viscoplastic duromer. CarboPur WX ingress very good in the sealed structures.
It is hydrophobic and initially displaces the water. In the contact area with water, there is a rapid reaction. The resin foams to a compact and viscous foam. CarboPur WX has an excellent adhesion, also on humid grounds. Due to the volume ratio 1:1 a simple and safe processing is possible.

Description

  • Consolidation and stabilisation of loose rock, clefts, cavities, sand or dry and water-bearing rock formations and all types of rock texture
  • Sealing of water tributaries (incl. salt water) from rock formations, from dams or shaft and tunnel walls.
  • Renovation of wet shafts, tunnels, sewers and constructions. Particularly the underground infrastructure or brickwork.
  • Sealing of excavation and sheet pile/slotted wall in ground water
  • Sealing and locking of cracks and joints
  • many other specialised applications

Instructions

In a volume ratio of 1 : 1, both components are

1 Component Processing

either mixed in a suitable clean and dry container by means of an effective stirrer and then introduced into the injection area by means of a one component pump. In dry ground, the curing can be accelerated by pre-injecting water. Only applicable without addition of CarboAdd WX

2 Component Processing

or pumped separately via a two-component pump, then passing a static mixer and being injected into the rock formation through a bore hole packer. The resin can be accelerated by adding CarboAdd WX (cf. chart). In case of heavy water ingress we recommend the use of CarboPur WFA or CarboPur WT or to contact the manufacturer.

Detailed information can be found in „Directives for the use of CarboTech injection resins in tunnelling and civil engineering“.

Packaging

All forms of packing are approved to the danger goods regulation road (German GGVS). The quantities of the individual components correspond to the mixing ratio (1 : 1 by volume).

Sealing (gas, water, sewer)

CarboStop 102

For the coagulation, hardening and waterproofing in tunnelling, underground, Hydraulic, Maritime and Off-Shore Constructions

Description

CarboStop 102 is a water-reactive one-component polyurethane resin. CarboStop 102 is CFC and solvent free.  The reaction begins when the mix comes in contact with water.

  • Stopping of water inflow under high pressure and speed ( salt water)
  • Coagulation and water sealing of loose rock.
  • Grouting of fine to grained sands.
  • Fixing of anchors, self drilling anchors and cable bolts in sand under water transit
  • Deep injection
  • Injection of cracks, honeycombs, cold joints and non-moving joints.
  • Injections of man-accessible sewer lines and tubes
  • Injection in simultaneous or sequential stages during the cement grouting, (Carbo-Grouting System), and or for the automated compounded grouting, i.e., resin mixture + reactive, or non-reactive fillers for the filling of large voids under high water transit and pressure (Carbo-Block)

Instructions

CarboStop 102 ACC must be added for a controlled start of the reaction.
Before the start of the pumping, the CarboStop 102 ACC is added in predestined quantity to the resin CarboStop 102. Herewith the reactivity of the grout can be adjusted to the given situation. Both components have to be mixed thoroughly. The prepared grout mixture can be stored for at least 48 hours without significant increase in viscosity under the condition that the grout mix is efficiently protected from moisture and water.
However, a skin may form on surface of the liquid surface, due to reaction with the moisture in the air. This has gen- erally no further effect on the resin underneath, but we recommend to skim this skin and also prevent obstructions in the pump.

The mix of CarboStop 102/CarboStop 102 ACC is injected as a one-component grout that reacts strongly and hard- ens after the contact and interaction with a sufficient quantity of water. Should the area to be sealed contain an insuf- ficient quantity of water to trigger all the elements of the resin, then a complete reaction of the CarboStop 102 can be achieved by pre-, simultaneous-, or post injection with water.

When compared to two-component systems, the CarboStop 102 contained in the high-pressure hose does not hard- en out. However, please assure yourself that the valves are closed so that no water can enter the hose and trigger the reaction of the grout. Nevertheless we always advise to flush the pump with the cleaner CarboSolv D in order to prevent the pump and valves from sludging. Should the interruption exceed one day, we’ll always advise to lubricate the internal parts of the pumps and the hoses with CarboSolv S as well.
